Leadership & Team

The people you'll actually work with.

Sagacent is a small, experienced team by design. You’re not handed off to a call center — you work with people who know your environment and your business. Here are the people who lead the firm.

Leadership & Team: The People You Work With - Sagacent

Ed Correia

President & CEO

Ed founded Sagacent in 2000 and still leads it. He’s spent more than 25 years in technology, through Y2K and the hard security lessons that followed 9/11, events that shaped how he thinks about continuity and planning for the worst. He brought Sagacent into data security in 2005 and built the firm’s security work around the recognized NIST framework long before most small firms were paying attention to it. He treats security as a shared responsibility between leadership and IT rather than something you can buy and forget, and he now leads the firm’s work on AI and automation. Outside the company, he’s long been active in the Bay Area’s small-business technology community.

Dave Frieberg

Service Operations Manager

Dave runs Sagacent’s service operations, making sure the team has what it needs to take care of clients well. He joined in 2021 with more than 20 years in IT, having worked his way up from the help desk through systems and network administration, procurement, cybersecurity, and project management. Along the way he’s supported a major bank, HIPAA-governed medical technology, and even professional sports, he served as a Senior Manager of IT with the Oakland Athletics. His team is built around acknowledging issues quickly, listening to what clients need, and following through.

Maurice Unglik

Client Success Manager

Maurice owned an IT managed-services firm himself before joining Sagacent, so he knows the owner’s seat, the pressure of applying technology to real business goals with real money on the line. He brings 18 years across both the business and technical sides, a business degree from RMIT University in Australia, and certifications including ITIL v3, Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt), and project management from UC Berkeley Extension. His focus is making sure technology is serving the client’s objectives, not the other way around.

On the people side, he looks after the culture, helping the team communicate, collaborate, and work well together across projects and client engagements. He holds a degree from San Jose State University.
